The Light Within Us
2024
Drawing inspiration from the idea that everyone has a light that shines within them, and it is our experiences, lessons and relationships that shape our unique story. The mural is in the shape of a sun catcher made up of intersecting circles and different motifs that each represent a senior’s story. Outlining the design are gold lines that pay homage to the meaning of Ghim Moh, which is “Golden Hair” in Hokkien. Overall, “The Light Within Us” is a reminder to embrace the ups and downs of life, because they all add up to who we uniquely become.
